I don’t know why, but a number of years ago I fell in love with orange.

Fiery, warm, incendiary, bright, saucy, scintillating, lush ORANGE.

I always loved blue. I just had to learn to appreciate its complement. (I’m with Munsell on this one.)

Lush Orange

There is no blue without yellow and without orange.
…….~ Vincent Van Gogh

And these the orange-trees, in blossom–no need
to tell with this weight of perfume in the air.
…….~ William Carlos Williams (from “A Celebration”)

About CarolWiebe

Art entices, inspires, and delights me. Art is a vehicle for laughter, tears, wonder, enlightenment--taking me on a constant path of discovery. You can't say that about housework (except, perhaps, for the crying part).

I just saw the Van Gogh Up Close show at the Philly Museum of Art. It was amazing. He would have a whole painting of a field with lots of tints and shades of blue and green in it- plus his wonderful texture and then your eye would catch a dash of red or orange and then go searching to see if there was anything else you had missed in the work. It was truely amazing! Color is a powerful tool!
