This One Is For Paulann

.

Paulann, from Growthlines, commented that my photo of blocked crochet looked like a piece of art. I decided to play with it a little more, and see where that took me.

.This digital design has a decidedly textile-ish look, and a rather old-fashioned flavor.

The same design has had some color changes, above, but still retains a retro charm.

About CarolWiebe

Art entices, inspires, and delights me. Art is a vehicle for laughter, tears, wonder, enlightenment--taking me on a constant path of discovery. You can't say that about housework (except, perhaps, for the crying part).

  1. Wow! Double Like! Thanks, Carol. They are beautiful! I’d say we “dance” in a variety of ways, and this is definitely yours.

I’m happy you find them pleasing. I sense that you appreciate handwork from the past, much as you cherish and examine past memories. These blocked crochet pieces have that kind of feel for me. And, I suddenly thought, it is very significant to access “blocked” memories.

      • I do love old things. I have a lot of old hand stitched items from my great grandmother that are real treasures to me. I agree that the crochet pieces have that feel. Your statement about the significance of accessing “blocked” memories is so true.

Carol, my dear same name friend–you add such kind comments. Someday I’d like to visit you and meet some of the other divas!

I LOVE hearing from you!
