I’ve said before that I love to crochet. I’m making a little poncho type shawl (it won’t fall off your shoulders) and needed to block it. I saw the idea on someone’s blog (wish I could remember where so I could thank them) to use interlocking foam tiles. Eureka! No expensive blocking board needed!
Now that I look at it, I see that I have pulled farther to the right than the left on my garment. We’ll see how that plays out in the wearing.
If you look really hard, you may notice a little piece of black plastic on the left blue granny square. That is the cover of the flash mount for my Nikon 1 V1 camera. It keeps falling off. I am rather annoyed by that, as it is a pretty wonderful little camera otherwise. When I returned to Henry’s and told them about my problem, they were quite indifferent. A shrug communicated that it wasn’t their problem. The “cool” factor of this camera was a big selling point (for them), but a camera missing pieces loses a great deal of that, as far as I’m concerned. And why would Nikon put a cap on that area if it didn’t need it? I really don’t want the flash mount to get a bunch of dust on it.
So much for my little rant.
It may not help, but I think the photo of your blocked crochet looks like a piece of art. The perspective is interesting given the camera angle and the items that are standing.
I also find it frustrating when something I bought doesn’t work right, has a flaw, etc, and the store isn’t interested in making it right.
Thank you, Paulann–I like that perspective! Perhaps I will play with it as a painting and see what happens!
