A Fern On the Floor

The other day I found a fern on the sidewalk that had lost its color in a unique way. I tossed it onto the floor on the passenger side of my car, and forgot about it.

Today I was sitting in my car at a red light and glanced down. The fern and the lines of the mat under it really caught my eye. I always carry a camera, so I snapped a pic before the light turned green and hoped it would be in focus.

Fern on the Floor

You’ve heard of a four on the floor — a four speed transmission where the shifter is on the floor. But until now I am sure you haven’t heard of a fern on the floor.

About CarolWiebe

Art entices, inspires, and delights me. Art is a vehicle for laughter, tears, wonder, enlightenment--taking me on a constant path of discovery. You can't say that about housework (except, perhaps, for the crying part).

  1. Dyan says:

This ‘fern’ is a branch of a cedar tree, both valiant and fragrant.

Yes, I have already been informed, Dyan, but thanks for the correction. I got carried away with the “fern on the floor” thing and lost all sense of perspective. I would say I was using literary licence, but am guessing that simply would not fly, due to the valiant nature of the plant.

I LOVE hearing from you!
