Take a painting and add stitches

Here’s another “using up the paint” painting.

Another left over paint painting

I am now stitching it (after adding a little gold paint). Instead of stitching the paper directly, as I usually do, I glued it to felt with a glue stick  and am creating lines with stitch. When I feel I’ve stitched enough, I’ll add more layers of paint.

Art entices, inspires, and delights me. Art is a vehicle for laughter, tears, wonder, enlightenment--taking me on a constant path of discovery. You can't say that about housework (except, perhaps, for the crying part).

ok. I’ve subscribed to the feed….will that bring it to my inbox? I just don’t know about these rss things – I’ve never found them really simple!

    • Carol Wiebe says:

Tammy, I know the feed will bring it to your reader of choice (I use Google Reader). I think you have to set it up on there if you want an email notice about it.

  2. Shirley Bartell says:

I’d like to know how the glue stick method works for you, Carol. I’ve found that it gunks up my needles so I generally use Misty Fuse or Steam-a-Seam 2 Lite when I want to bond things together before stitching.

    • Carol Wiebe says:

I used just enough to sort of stick it in place, Shirley, then added stitches around the edge by machine. I did not have any sticking problems.

I LOVE hearing from you!
